LST-143 CRYSTAL PASTURES "Two Cathedrals" Cassette Tape

Release date June 26, 2026

Crystal Pastures is a mostly dormant side project of Eli Moore (LAKE) and Matt Fu (moonTV/1985), buds who first started hanging together back in the late 90’s/early 00’s in gritty scenes like Bellingham and Olympia. The duo spent brief days in 2005, 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2025 writing and recording emotive bedroom pop songs together and have recently partially revived the recording project.

This cassette release was originally conceived as a single containing the tracks "Phocoena Phocoena" (the latin name for a harbour porpoise) and "Night Stand". Those two songs, initially recorded in 2012 were remixed and remastered in 2025, however neither version had been released. The 2025 versions are more polished with some additional instrumentation opposed to the 2012 versions on side B that take a more loose and minimalist approach. To expand the realm of "Two Cathedrals", there are two additional tracks included, originally recorded in 2005, "Dawn Treading" on side A and "Child Abuse" on side B. These are reflections and lamentations on beginnings, endings, and what we do with our lives in between.

Throughout Crystal Pastures "Two Cathedrals" EP you can hear slowcore influences from bands like Low and Bedhead combined with Matt and Eli's airy, often falsetto vocals, drum machine, synthesizers, and guitars. For fans of Lost Sound Tapes releases by Hoop, Levoneh, and Squill.

Edition of 100 pink cassette tapes with white pad print and full color, double sided j-card. Comes with a Bandcamp download code that includes 9 digital bonus tracks. Art by Clar Pearce.
